Conversations With My Body
I know how it feels,
To have your body be your enemy.
You scream so loud,
But can’t tell,
If you’re screaming or silent.
Am I me?
Is this body mine?
Does it answer to me?
Answer me!
It’s been you and me,
From the beginning.
Don’t you want to work together?
What do you tell me,
In the still, silent moments?
Do you want to be heard?
Moments to slow;
Calm and quiet;
Space to breathe.
Please, tell me
What you need.
I nourish and keep you,
And now I beseech you;
Please don’t give up now.
You have my vow,
To take care.
To remember you’re there.
To recall,
That you can’t take the fall
For my running,
Never stopping;
Forever popping,
One thing to another.
I stumble through
And fumble to
Respect you, hold you;
Have I told you,
How wonderful you are?
You work so hard;
We’ve come so far.
Take heart;
I see you.
I hear you.
I’m for you.
I’m with you.
